Welcome to the Opera of the future.
Site: Paris, France
Critics: Francine Houben, George Knight, Ruth Mackenzie, Isaac Kalisvaart, Erik Go
The Breathing Dome is an operable and temporary structure for opera and musical performances. Inspired by both Chinese and Italian opera house typologies, the opera house of the future offers a dramatic experience and a social platform. The operable kinetic tensile structure gives artists the freedom to experiment, and offers the local community an accessible experience with the choice of paying for a ticket or sitting down for a drink.
